What are Bat Boxes?

Bat Boxes are small, enclosed boxes designed to be a home for bats. These boxes have similar traits to naturally occurring tree hollows, and act as a roost and shelter for bats during the daytime. You can find Bat Boxes all over Australia; In parks, up trees and in wildlife facilities

Why are Bat Boxes important?

Every year, old trees are cut down to make room for parks, houses and other buildings. These trees support our native population of bats, and when they are cut down any bats living inside must find a new place to live. Bat Boxes provide a safe, dry living space for as many as twenty bats at a time, mimicking tree hollows. Insuring yearly checkups can make sure the box is still suitable for a bat to live in, and can help them last over ten years
