Prime Climb - Learning maths and having fun... at the same time!
"Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are words that many children despise. That is, until they've played Prime Climb..."
Math is often taught in a rigid, inflexible structure. When teaching the fundamental principles of math, this approach is usually quite beneficial. However, this system is far from perfect, and by the time students start to learn the basics of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, many children start to lose interest in math.
In 2016, Prime Climb was developed as a way to help kids see that math doesn't just have to be a series of worksheets, tests and booklets. A game of Maths, Strategy, Luck & Fun, Prime Climb was originally Dan Finkle as "a way for kids to see the fun, creative side of math that leads to deep learning and discovery."
A Game of Maths, Strategy, Luck & Fun!
Prime Climb is all about moving your pieces to the highest number on the board, 101. Using multiplication, division, addition and subtraction, players work their way through the board to try and get to 101. In this game, players must use their knowledge of simple math to find the quickest path to the prime, whilst competing with up to three other opponents.
In this game, moving backwards isn't always a bad thing! Sometimes moving back a few numbers means being able to multiply to the just the right number in a future turn, or it may send another player back to the start! Easy to learn, difficult to master, Prime Climb is sure to satisfy young and old players alike!
